Minutes

President Peggy Gaydos of the Ingelside Housing Authority called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday September 23rd, 2010 at the Kenedy Housing Authority, 118 Stewart Street, Kenedy, Texas. List of those attending is at the end of these minutes.

The minutes of the meeting held July 15, 2010 were presented. Motion was made by Lois Strieber of Yorktown Housing Authority, seconded by Aileen Montgomery of the Devine Housing Authority to approve the minutes as amended. Motion carried.  

The Financial Report had also been posted prior to the meeting. The opening bank balance is $4,542.52; eleven checks written for total of $841.86. These checks were written for THA Conference door prize; Kenedy Housing Authority for shirts, funeral plant, snacks for maintenance training;  6 checks to HAs reimbursing for maintenance training; 3 checks reimbursement for paying too much for shirts. We also had one deposit for a total of $88.15 for 4 shirts, leaving a closing balance $3,788.81.  Motion was made by Rebecca Leal of Poteet Housing Authority, seconded by Darla Pullin of the Three Rivers Housing Authority, to approve the financial report. Motion carried. 

Under Correspondence: 

1) Thank you from Barbi Trevino and family for plant sent by CHAT. 

2) Postcard from Kenedy Housing Authority - mailing address and contact name has changed. 

Under New Business:

1) Nominating Committee needed for 2011/2012 officers. Cristi LaJuenesse of Kenedy Housing Authority, Lois Strieber of Yorktown Housing Authority and Rebecca Leal of Poteet Housing Authority agreed to be committee.

2) No new information on website design at this time.

3) Rebecca Leal of Poteet Housing Authority and Peggy Gaydos of Ingelside Housing Authority have been invited to a convening in Washington D.C. regarding the Physical Needs Assessment. 

4) Next Meeting - Annual Pot Luck Dinner and gift exchange. Set limit of $15.00 for gift exchange gifts. 

There being no further business to come before the membership, Rebecca Leal of Poteet Housing Authority made a motion to adjourn the meeting, which was seconded by Aileen Montgomery of Devine Housing Authority. Motion carried.

Following the meeting Training:

Gregory Asvestos with Clean Enviroments gave a presentation on Renovation and Repair of units regarding the new rule on Lead Based Paint.

Travis Martin Financial was also available to provide information on Retirement for their current customers and any others that were interested in information.
